These are basic word documents that provide the structure for your content.
If you have taken a "Make and Take" class with me you know that with 20-30 problems you can create a variety of activities. It is ok if some of the problems are the same, because they may or may not work each problem from beginning to end. Some activities lend themselves better to particular content, but play around with the ideas, you might be surprised by the outcome!
Many of these documents have 0" margins, when you go to print, look at your final copy to make sure that part of it is not cut off.

Play, Explore and Have Fun!!
That is right. Fun in a math class!
The latest research is saying that stress causes students to have more trouble learning. One speaker I attended recently described the symptoms of chronic stress which looked a lot like a learning disability!! Creating activities in the classroom that reduce stress and stimulate engagement can then only help students learn your content better.
You only have students with you a limited number of hours a week, you want to make the most of it. When students are in front of me, I want to make sure that for at least some of that time they are sharing their thoughts and wrestling over their challenges with the material.
In all of my seminars I have teachers try these activities. In part so that they understand how the activity goes, but mainly so that they can feel how different it feels to interact with the material this way. You are stimulating different parts of your brain. Ok, I don't know this for a fact, but I can feel my thought processes connecting different ideas when I interact with the material in some of these ways.
So, create your own activity! Engage your students in their mathematical journey and have fun along the way!!
If you create an activity that works really well and you don't mind sharing, please share it with me and I will post it for others. [email protected]
